Resist bacteria and germs with nanotechnology

Bioni Hygienic is the first interior paint that has been especially developed for areas with high hygienic requirements, e.g. hospitals. Through the use of a totally new compound of substances based on nano-silver, developed jointly with the Fraunhofer Institut für Chemical Technology, Bioni Hygienic not only provides long-lasting preventive protection from the creation of germs and bacteria but also against the formation of mould in damp areas such as showers or kitchens. This has been confirmed by tests carried out by, amongst others, the Institute for Hospital Hygiene and Infection Control (IKI) in Giessen (5-log stage reduction of the pathogenic bacteria staphylococcus aureus and enterococcus faecium).

Since Bioni Hygienic is not intended to replace but rather to support necessary hygienic measures in medical establishments, high resistance to cleaning and disinfectant was added to the coating. This high robustness as well as the paint’s resistance to fire ensure genuine additional benefits as regards durability and safety.

Certified as health-compatible

In order to meet the most demanding requirements as regards health and environmental compatibility, we consciously excluded external biocides, solvents and softeners in formulating Bioni Hygienic. The product’s harmlessness in terms of indoor hygiene has not only been verified by comprehensive tests conducted by the TÜV Product und Environment Test Institute which has awarded Bioni Hygienic the TÜV Rheinland insignia for wall paints and coatings certified for emissions, but has also received impressive backing as a result of the award of the “Environmentally Medically Recommended” certificate from the Committee for Environmental Medicine and Building Hygiene. Bioni Nature also meets the committee’s strict guidelines for the medical assessment of building products (AgBB) and is also suitable and certified for use in indoor areas in accordance with “Procedures to be used in the Medical Assessment of Emissions from Occasional Organic Compounds (VOC and SVOC) in Building Products“.
