Coatings Possessing Nano-Functionality

We work in close cooperation with leading scientific institutes on developing new products. The starting point for every research project is a need found in the marketplace, for example the formation of mould and mildew inside buildings, or the growth of algae on facades.

Based upon the latest scientific findings in nanotechnology and together with the researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology, we have developed a new nano-filler combination, which when used in both interior and facade paints, permanently prevents the formation of mould, bacteria and algae. These invaluable new coating properties neither negatively affect the health of the residents nor pose a threat to the environment.

The well-known consultants and market research company, FROST & SULLIVAN, acknowledged this outstanding achievement by honouring Bioni and Fraunhofer ICT with the 2008 European Award for outstanding achievements in the field of research.

Spurred on by our success and supported by the latest technological advances we intend to devote our future research efforts uncompromisingly to the creation of intelligent coatings offering real solutions to current problems.
